The ‘Same Chance Employment’ project, co-financed by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme, is led by Aġenzija Sapport (Malta), in partnership with Prisms Malta (Malta), the Portuguese Association Voz do Autista (Portugal), AsIAm (Ireland) and the Directorate for Disability Issues (Malta).
The main aim of this project is to increase the number of autistic people – including those with possible co-occurrences – in meaningful employment, promoting their inclusion and sustained permanence in the labour market.
To this end, it is planned to develop content aimed at potential employers, create a train-the-trainer module and launch an accessible e-learning platform.
Project activities:
• Creating curricula for employers: This course will be based on an analysis of companies’ perception and understanding of the topic of neurodiversity in employment, as well as their needs to implement policies and operational programmes that promote this inclusion.
• Development of e-learning content for autistic people: The project will create e-learning modules focussed on employability skills, using gamified learning to increase motivation and knowledge retention. These modules will have online and offline formats for greater interactivity. A centralised digital platform will also be created where all the project’s content will be available, ensuring easy access and long-term sustainability. All the materials and the platform will be adapted to the partners’ languages, ensuring accessibility, with content developed by and for neurodivergent people.
• Development and implementation of a training of trainers programme: The training previously created will be adapted to enable autistic people to conduct awareness-raising and inclusion workshops in their communities. Through this approach, the aim is to increase the project’s reach by involving more companies and creating real job opportunities for autistic people in various partner countries.
• Dissemination and visibility: Communication and publicising of the activities and results obtained throughout the project. This ensures that the content developed by the project effectively reaches its recipients, not only during its execution, but also after its conclusion.
